    It's different.

Bush made justification on ambiguous reports to attack Iraq (Though I agree that opening the campaign of war in Afghanistan was substantiated). The war in Syria has been going on for 2 years already, and there are actually external pressures for the west, along with the U.S., to step in and intervene.

It's not like prior to 2011, the rest of the world did not know that Syria has been run by an authoritarian government and has an abysmal human rights track record.

Update: Russia sends two warships into the Mediterranean. Murag Russia is trying to prove something symbolic here. We don't know.

Though I'm not warmongering on this thread. But these two badass cruisers are the best in the world. Both will be on the same waters, and both are on the two opposing teams. Now, which cruiser is your bet...

    The Russian Moskva Missile Cruiser

    VERSUS

    US Aegis Missile Cruiser

^^Tico has the edge over the Slava-class. Even 1 Arleigh-Burke could handle its own against a Slava-class cruiser.

    Updates:

The USA might go alone, and do the bombardment. The UK parliament voted NO.

    Hmmm. A toughie for me.

The Ticonderoga class ships have remarkable number of SAM but few SSMs. They are newer, faster and with their SPY Radar System and their AEGIS Weapon system can be a very formidable weapon.

Slavas have powerful anti-ship guns and a bigger number of P-500 Bazalt SSMs (Surface-to-surface Missiles), remarkable armor and bigger displacement.

If ang Slava anti-ship guns maka-una ug bira sa Tico, astang dugmoka gyud. But again, since superior logistics, strategy, and coordination would always prevail- I'd go for Tico!

Lisod bro, it will precipitate global sympathy, and martyrdom for Assad, and his tomb will be a shrine for all shi'ites in Syria. Mas dako gyud nuon ni nga civil war. Just like the CIA not allowing Fidel Castro or Kim ll Sung to be assassinated.
