    @anarki, some use Vegas, others Premiere, and the rest Final Cut.. there is also Jahshaka! (Thank God for Open Source!)

    Being a member of Sinebuano, I know the importance of collaboration and cooperation. It is part of the group's core to support other's efforts in promoting the unique Bisayan cultural identity.

    In this same spirit, I'm sharing my screen-writing and story skills and knowledge for free to any individual or group pursuing indie filmmaking.

    If you have a story or film idea that you're having diffculty transferring from your mind to the page, a concept that needs structuring or 'tailoring' to fit your requirements and assets as independent filmmakers, I would like to help.

    Please don't hesitate to PM me or email me at djudilla@yahoo.com for assistance and consultation. I am also willing to give guidelines, both general and detailed, for those who are interested to venture into screenwriting.

    A revival!
    By Sam Costanilla
    Spotlight
    Online Source: http://www.sunstar.com.ph/static/ceb/2007/05/21/life/costanilla.a.revival!.html

    DO you think there is a chance for the eventual revival of the Cebuano/Visayan film industry? This is the specific question I asked some close friends of mine. They were kind enough to text me their replies which I would like to share with you now.

    * * *
    LADY lawyer Ging Navarro: I have high hopes that the Cebuano/Visayan film industry will eventually be revived. Maybe some people are not yet ready for it, but its time will eventually come. In the meantime, we can work on improving the quality, plot and acting of those involved in local productions.

    * * *

    ACTRESS-singer Baby Condeno: Yes, I’m optimistic about its revival in due time. Look at the popularity now of Bisrock (Bisaya rock music). The same thing will happen to the local film industry, provided everybody will cooperate.

    * * *

    CIVIC leader-businessman Joe Go: Reviving the Cebuano/Visayan film industry is not a problem, considering the large Cebuano-speaking population even in Metro Manila. We only have to make sure that we produce quality movies, not mediocre ones.

    * * *

    SINGER-educator Leo Patrick Acibar: Local film producers should be fully supported by the government. Also, local filmmakers should come up with nice plots and world-class productions that they can proudly show even in other countries. Computer-aided special effects can also be utilized by local movie producers.

    * * *

    LAWYER Joseph Marc Quirante: I’m starting to get bored with Hollywood and Tagalog movies. Cebuano/Visayan movies would be good alternatives but they should have subtitles in order to enjoy wider patronage in places outside the VisMin area.

    * * *

    ACTOR-singer Gil “Kulas” Maningo: Our local stars should attend acting workshops first. They should also feel proud in speaking the dialect. We must also encourage budding stars to hone their acting skill because it’s not easy to face the camera.

    * * *

    ACTRESS-executive Carlo Ballesteros: Local productions should not use deep Cebuano/Visayan words and phrases because not everybody understands them. The use of conversational Cebuano/Bisaya is necessary if we want local films to be appreciated by the audience.

    * * *

    COMPOSER-arranger Doy Montana: All of us should cooperate to revive the Cebuano/Visayan film industry because it also means the development of the local arts and culture.

    * * *

    CAPITOL employee Pampee Barcenas: I don’t think we can revive the Cebuano/Visayan film industry so easily. Consider the popularity now of hi-tech entertainment.

    * * *

    BROADCASTER-actress Tisha Ylaya: We only need funds and sustained efforts to eventually revive the local movie business. It is so ironic that Cebu, being the source of great stars who are now based in Manila, does not have an active film industry.

    * * *

    FILM producer-lawyer Joji Alonso: All Cebuanos/Visayans must watch local films. Trouble is, they don’t support themselves because they’d rather watch Hollywood flicks.

    * * *

    WE shall have more comments on this issue from my other texter-friends in this corner next Monday.
