acquiring ASM requires long range radar... and ASM can either be delivered via air or land... its not really necessary to have it mounted on a ship...

FA-50 Jets & Pilots training approved na!

DELA CRUZ: for the fa50 as what the chief of staff said,
we’ve programmed 12 and this is already approved in
principle and we’re at this point in time we’re now going
into the detailed training of our team with th Korean team
(when is the delivery po gen) – we, our target date is it
should have at least two initially by the end of fourth
quarter of 2014 and then the rest would be the following six
    months thereafter
(meaning the 10) – the ten
    (by 2015, june 2015) – by 2015
(june) – staggered basis poi to because I hope you would
realize that the aircraft is not just like to buy you can just
    go to a plant and
    (anyway, staggered) – two every
    (2 untis every month) yeah
(so 2 units every month) no, two every two months
(two every two months, you will hit 2016) – yeah, yun ang
    ano po natin
(so 2 every 2 months, that means 24 months) – hopefully
we have it all delivered before the middle of 2016 if
    everything goes right
(how about the 21 huey) – the 21 hueys are again this is
really, in order for us to be transparent, tama po si mr
solmerin that per law, after two failed biddings, we can go
to negotiations. But as the development comes in there
were some proponents who signified their interest to really
acquire. So we bid in order for us to be transparent, is again
    to publish it for rebidding
(anyway, we’ve the money to buy 21 huey) – yes
(and the target date of the delivery of the hueys is 2016) –
    hopefully, earlier po yun
(earlier, say 2015) – if things will go well then we will be
able to have it by next year
(2014, the navy frigates, we’ve the money also) I leave that
    to the foic[/I]
