actually bro, one point of view suggests that God and Science do not contradict with each other.
God creates and gave a sneak peak of the summary of creation through Biblical accounts on creation(genesis)
while Science with the gift of human intelligence, slowly discovers the details of creation.
A lot of people tried to persuade me to believe in bible. But I believe in God, and science.
1 John 5:11-13
11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
13These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
In Cebu, it's quite unfortunate that people will take the words "I don't know" as a sign of defeat. We're so willing to crown anyone who'll make claims with absolute certainty. Perhaps that's why scam artists find our country a nice hunting ground for gullible victims.
With regards to our origins, the scientific account is incomplete and will remain so, as we uncover an ever-expanding field of our own ignorance. To put the BIG QUESTIONS on the scale of probability (without committing to absolute positions) and to provisionally describe how everything began and evolved based on available evidence and rigorously-tested scientific theories...this seems to me befitting the standard that's demanded by our reason.
The various religions, however, will claim that their rigid, un-changing myths are true and will disregard evidence that don't conform to their supernatural worldview. This is unfortunate, especially in the 21st century. Previously un-explained phenomena like diseases, psychological disorders, crop failures, lightning and thunder, the motion of the planets, etc. used to be attributed to supernatural agents: demons, evil spirits, witches, evil eye, God's punishment, etc. We tend to forget how long and hard it was for our science to finally relegate these superstitious beliefs to our ignorant past...or so we thought.
And yet, here we are, still clinging on stubbornly to a worldview that says: Our atmosphere is composed of Nitrogen, Oxygen, Carbon Dioxide....ghosts, demons, the devil himself, a portal to the supernatural world, etc.![]()
Saying I dont Know is Not a sign of Defeat, its a sign that you cant Claim Absolute truth of your belief of Non existence since you already accepted that you dont know. Plus admitting that the basis of your belief which is science is incomplete will just add to that...![]()
