English speaking Filipinos - what's your opinion?

when i traveled abroad, they were greatly impressed with the fact that most if not all Filipinos can understand English really well. some may have difficulty with grammar and diction, but as long as one is able to convey his message, i guess that's all that matters, right?

My opinion is that i am very proud for a fact that most if not all, Pinoys can express themselves very well and can speak English. The most important thing is that you get your point across and you are understood. Funny how one Pinoy being interviewed for american citizenship was asked this question by the interviewing officer, "who's at the top at city hall?", then the pinoy answered...."Pigeons, Sir" still a good answer, hahaha ... well, you know how the rooftop or ceilings of big buildings have birds? lol. That was an honest, straightforward answer he gave, lol and funny too

i myself is an English speaker and it is my mother language. sadly, the people around me always conclude me with something else each time i speak in English. its soo immature.

for Filipinos that speak and prefer to speak in english, they are heavily influenced by western culture. also the reason why this country is very dysfunctional since people cant communicate with each other properly.

the country that really values their culture, a good example would be japan.
