We have laws but we lack implementation, not until I see with my very eyes that the law of this land is respected and enforced by those people who believe in it I would stop supporting Duterte.
    Criminals had their chances.
They repeated the crime so chances stop there.
Should he ran Manila, I will be pleased.
Maybe by then, there will more news about holdappers/snatcher/kidnapper/druglord gettting killed here and there.

What is good about the policy is not only does it reduce crime it also lessens the threat of insurgency. These criminals and their organized networks sometimes collaborate with communists and foreign intelligence. It is not surprising you don't get to see miltant leaders of KMU, bayan et al making their voices heard from that part of the city.

It is clear that the mayor's policy is actually dangerous for anyone who wishes to undermine the status quo of davao city. Hence business is streamlined and progress is going at a steady rate.

To people who quantify the mayors policies of only going after the bottomfeeders to that of totally eliminating those at the top that comparison is ludicrous. He does not have the power structure and clout to effect those things. At least in the gist of things he is able to share his skills and gratitude to those he is beholden to -- his constituents.

The network of higher, more organized groups is just too complex and too dangerous for him to address.

Marcos during his time did what he did but on a larger scale, and because of the many of his laws were repealed and some laws that were passed because that was a reaction to what he put in place. During his time the oligarchs were powerless, now they have taken everything back and may not surrender them without a fight.

pinas is rich in laws/rules/etc.... pag implement lang ang kulang.... if implement pud, corruption dayon.... gi-abused sa mga rich people ang judicial process diri pinas.... sa sg, drug trafficker/murder = bitay dayon in less 1yr... diri pinas, drug lord na = mala palasyo pa ang presohan.. criminal na (i.e. maguindanao massacre), huwa pa gihapon mahusay ang kaso... plunderer (gma, erap, ramos, etc) naa pa gihapon sa gobyerno nag work... tsk tsk tsk tsk...
i agree with you...daghang balaod nga nindot nga wala gipa tuman. kay ang tigpatuman utro pod nga kurakot. mga criminal cases sa singapore are solved not more than 48 hrs in average...sa atoa, abtan pa ug 48 yrs.

IMO the solution is a great purging. it may not be moral pero kailangan kay di na madala, sobrahan na ka lantaran.
