very unlikely CMOS has something to do with it. if he clears it, big chance it will still go to his DVD drive first priority by default. it's either he still has a disc in his cd-dvd drive, or he has a usb stick constantly plugged in and his PC is trying to boot from there (you can tell by his snapshot nga naa siya 7gb drive)
boot device priority ra na..
aguynoy in good conition paman diay na!
try to Change CMOS battery barato rana ug mupalit ka TS
So you're saying both of his machines have CDs or USB sticks connected to them?
And that the brownout/blackout had nothing to do with corrupting his cmos/bios?
And did you know that even if the CD/DVD drive or USB stick were booted first, the BIOS will skip it if no OS were found in them and go to next device with the proper boot loader (in the case the HDD), right?
If he clears his CMOS, then the boot order will default to his HDD. Having a CD/DVD/USB connected is moot.
im not trying to get into a pissing contest with anyone here, and like everyone else, i'm sharing my diagnosis and of course, like everyone else, could be wrong, or right. the reason why i didnt lean too much on the bios being corrupted is alot of times, when it's corrupt you cannot get into windows at all, or at times not even get into BIOS either. and no, i am not saying the bios will not automatically find the boot device, if none were located in the first boot priority, but isnt there a slim chance that he presses the 'del' right away to access bios before it automatically does it for him? we can only do so much, he is the one who has the computer infront of him, not us. i missed the part where it's stated he has two computers, and i only diagnosed one, so i admit the boot sequence solution could be wrong. but isnt the point supposed to be helping out with our thoughts on the matter, not "who's-right-because-he-knows-more"
@ts musta na imong issue? bitaw, try to clear the cmos daw bro (if you havent already).. i retract my initial diagnosis. missed the part where you said both computers were affected.
pissing contest? chill out dude.
so my advise was very unlikely right? you already shot it down before the TS can even try it out.
and your solution was the ultimate solution, correct?
look who's in a "pissing contest".
that's why i don't like giving advices here because of people like you who thinks they "know everything".
