Are you serious? You actually want to part away with most of your taxes to our increasingly socialist system? Are you even sure socialist programs like this can be sustained indefinitely with a lousy economy like ours? Do you even know that this administration has been borrowing capital from international and domestic sources alike through treasuries? If you still insist on giving them socialized housing without offsetting it with an improved economy you might as well privatize the bridges, roads, hospitals, and government offices to make up for the budget deficit.

I had lived as a squatter before, I know a lot of people in squatter areas. I know they are not lazy, I know they work hard. They just don't have the opportunity to have a house and lot of their own.

Yes we are all too familiar with the bloated and redundant government agencies that we have. It is much better to streamline them for better service but nobody wants to get rid of them anyway since employees get security of tenure. Anyway the point I am trying to come across is that what happened to the more viable and better long term solution this government promised us like the PPP projects? This will definitely help in generating jobs especially for the marginalized. Giving them houses to live in is just and end in itself, a house nothing more. If they can't have skills and a source of livelihood then they will simply return to what they do best.

It is good that you saw through it all and managed to get out, not all people are lucky enough or smart enough to do that. An alternative would be to stay in the provinces and work hard from that point, get an education and land a job here in the city.
