Governments REALLY LOVE PROJECTS.. coz of the kickbacks... the kickbacks.. housing for the informal settlers?
Aside from spoon feeding, it is also a way for politicians corruptions. Too bad for those who are fooled.

Lisod ani nila kay di man gud maningkamot, ganahan ug easy money ug maghulat na naay mo hatag nila...
Capital punishment is as fundamentally wrong as a cure for crime as charity is wrong as a cure for poverty.

pag basa nako sa title daan, ang tweet ni bianca gonzales dayon ako na remember, sus mao man diay topic.
I agree with her in a sense na we work hard and they are not.
I also agree on the post of others, saying its about compassion and all, many of those squatters did not choose to be born poor.
And I will not argue na politicians are alligators making money from housing projects for the poor and their hidden agenda that pro poor equates to good votes and I mean plenty of votes.
(Villar played a part on it).
what the heck are you guys complaining about?
our taxes is for our country, and helping to the poor is part of helping our country, its not na after na tukod ang balay kay ang government ghapon ang mag bayad.. its just for the poorest of the poor to have a kickstart on their life.
mid class citizens like me are fortunate enough to have a job and a home, mid class citizens should not complain instead learn how to save their money and spend it wisely.
I can see lots of crab mentality on this post, Pinoy jd!
It looks like what people are blabbing here is not about the housing but about "kasuya" and envy..
be the solution and not the problem.
kaning mga tawhana maoy nagpadaog atong mga kandidato nga klaro kaayong mediocre, track record pa lang.
the nerve...
Are you serious? You actually want to part away with most of your taxes to our increasingly socialist system? Are you even sure socialist programs like this can be sustained indefinitely with a lousy economy like ours? Do you even know that this administration has been borrowing capital from international and domestic sources alike through treasuries? If we make them houses yet don't give them a source of livelihood what do you think these people will do? Sell or rent out those houses and squat again.
And since we did not have enough income to service our debts what happens when the loans mature? Since we may not be able to pay them back then the creditors would then force us to accept the terms and conditions of the loan which was already stipulated when the government applied for that loan. One of these terms is privatization.
Remember that the debt the cory administration left because they failed to make use of the infrastructures and programs of the past admin was so high that the next administration of FVR was forced to privatize some of our government assets such as the energy infrastructure which eventually resulted in high electricity rates.
If you still insist on giving them socialized housing without offsetting it with an improved economy you might as well privatize the bridges, roads, hospitals, and government offices to make up for the budget deficit.
I think most Istoryans here are concerned not about the Tax money being used to build homes, it's not about being envious or being "paki-alam" , What concerns everyone the most is on the corporate side of things. What happens AFTER houses are built and money subsidized.
The abstract entity represented in bulk often called as "the Government" personified by best dressed individuals with questionable integrity.
@cebugdev , no problem IF kuhaon na nila sa EXISTING taxes...kay wa man gyud tay mahimo...naa man ang tax...
pero kung PUN-AN ug kuha akong sweldo para i-balay nila, then that's just f**ked up...
we can assist tingali...pero dili kay kuhaan napod atong sweldo...wa man gani ko kabalay nga nag-trabaho pag sakto...sila na nuon nga wa mag-trabaho? sorry...but i'm no jesus h. christ to nail myself in the cross for other people...that's just stupid....

you can start at least to donate here in istorya for the mangrove project.....or any of their projects.....
sa tagalog pa "ika nga 'be the solution and not the problem.'"....
