With regards sa mountaineering, bag-o pako ani. I started lang last March 2013 at Mt Manunggal on Pres. Magsaysay's Death Anniversary. There I bought my 1st pack, the TNF Terra 45. I thought that was big enough until I saw mountaineers having real big packs..I love its bottom zip and its wide body. There's a lot of straps to help you have that perfect fit. TNF Terra is the most common TNF bags for mountaineers. Every 2 wks since then until now we have local climbs. This bag is durable. I had a friend who used her Terra40 for 7yrs now. Though, this bag seems not designed for women. I gave it to my wife and seems she had difficulty on the strap at the breast area. If you are a woman, try to fit the pack before buying. Make sure your torso length and the breast area are considered.
Last April, we had our Mt Kanlaon Climb, and I decided to give the Terra40 to my wife because its too small for me. I had my TNF Crestone 60. It's the last stock when I bought it and I haven't seen that bag displayed anymore. Its a 2010 design but the features I would say is superior to Terra. Its 60L but it can go up to 70L because it has an extension on the top load. It is slim unlike the Terra which is a bit fat so its fitted for my body & my height (5'11"). Its front pocket has some straps to hang your carabiners and an open pocket. Though you could lose some items on the front open pocket on some instances. I love the fabric of Crestone60 than the Terra. Its more water resistant. Also, aside from the bottom zip, it has a side zip which provides easy access for things placed at the middle. It has a lot of fitting straps as well. I would say Im more comfortable with Crestone than Terra. And lastly, I love its bottom strap, I usually put my tent in there to protect the bag's butt from cuts. But unfortunately, I returned it to the store on the last wk of May to repair its unstitched side at the open pocket and claim the TNF Lifetime Warranty. There was no repair facility so they planned to replace it with a new model - Prophet65. I will post here my experience with the new bag once I will be able to use it.
Though Im using TNF, if you are into Value-For-Money on high-end bags, go for Deuter. They are priced less than 2T with the same and sometimes superior quality.
Ang best pud para sa ako sa cheaper brands bro is Conquer. For me, bati ang Habagat sa technical backpacks.
if 100% jud ka sure mag trek/climb, go for quality na para one time gastos. if not, go for conquer/habagat.
daghan factors dapat i-consider for good backpacks.
1. price
2. Hydration Compatible
3. Gear Capacity (depende sa imong mga butang)
4. Materials
5. Pack Easy Access
6. Number of pockets including ang main compartment
7. Sleeping bag compartment
8. Bag overall weight (huwa labot imo mga butang)
Main factors that you need to consider are:
1. Fits torso - about sa harness ni sya, dapat comfortable ka. refer sa reply ni odrujahad at page-1.
2. Fits waist - ensure that the belt waist can be adjust to fit your hip angles
akong duha ka kauban naguba dayon ilang habagat na sigbin. unya dli pajud major climb ilang giclimb.
