drafting tim duncan was the turning point of the spurs. duncan + robinson = 1999 title. plus the spurs got lucky with tony parker and manu ginobili. both are way, way below the draft yet ended up as perennial all-stars.

the spurs had 2 titles with tim duncan, and hopefully a third one this season. and maybe a little lady luck from robert horry. from houston, to the lakers and to the spurs, horry won titles.

    tony parker -- 2001, 28th pick overall
    manu ginobili -- 1999, 57th pick overall

    bruce bowen -- undrafted
    fabricio oberto -- undrafted

its a bit surprising for ginobili to end up at very late in the second round considering that he's one of argentina's star players. the spurs are indeed very lucky with their late picks. plus bowen and oberto who are both undrafted

Actually, it's not surprising at all coz at the time, untested ang mga foreign players. There are some but not a lot. I do not equate to luck the way the scouts in SA have done their job. They did their job extremely well and walked away winners with their choices.

Anyway, tonight's Game 5. I can't wait for the game to start!
