After the moon landing Buzz Aldrin became depressed and he became an alcoholic.
Way to celebrate his success right?
How about Neil Armstrong rest his soul.
He was appointed Deputy Associate Administrator for aeronautics for the Office of Advanced Research and Technology, Advanced Research Projects Agency (
ARPA), but served in this position for only a year, and resigned from it and NASA as a whole in 1971.
why did he resign NASA and went back to his hometown and teach physics.
He could have been the next Nasa director.
He could have made millions in Pepsi endorsement.
He could have shagged a lot of chicks.
He could have been the next president.
But why go in hiding and refuse media interviews.
Why? He is the first man to the moon for pete's sake.
Why go hide from the public? He was supposed to be an icon.
Do you hide your icon from the public?
Or did he really walk the moon?
I think he have to take the truth to his grave.
He rarely go out on public, only for apollo landing anniversaries. And with the permission of some people.
Moon Landing 40th Anniversary Rare speech from Neil Armstrong - YouTube
his speech changed,
he used "space flight anniversary" not "moon landing anniversary".
I love the way he did his pauses. brilliant.
words from his speech:
" humans have explored.(pause)
the moon without the work. (pause)
of robert (**sounds like Gutter)) (pause)
the existence of the cold war (pause)
or the (**sounds like I.T.Y) (pause)
perhaps! (pause)
but certainly never on the schedule as it actually occur (pause)
(think about it. read the line again. --
----CERTAINLY NEVER ON THE SCHEDULE AS IT ACTUALLY OCCUR!) does he mean it was prerecorded?
he continues--
"history is a sequence of (pause)
random events (pause)
and unpredictable choices (pause)
-------(what was his unpredictable choices? lying to the world?)
he goes on:
"Which is why the future is so difficult to foresee."(pause)
But ( pause) you can try..
Thank All for helping us celebrate this space flight anniversary."
another cryptic speech of his.
