Actually, this is a very sensible and enterprising idea. Capitalize on the fame, a positive way of looking at the situation.

Who the heck made this a big deal? Manila as "The Gates of Hell" isn't the bulk of the story anyways.

    Dan Brown

    Excerpt:

Not everyone is as piqued at how badly Manila was depicted in “Inferno,” Filipino netizen comments on Twitter show. Some even think that the episode in Manila– it’s less than two pages in a 460-page novel–just made them more curious about Mr. Brown’s latest thriller, whose mystery is based on Italian poet Dante’s masterpiece, “The Divine Comedy.”

It's just fiction and looking at the brighter side, being mentioned in a novel of a world famous writer means that we are not just a mere island in the globe. People around the world who will read his novel will soon begin to wonder what's in that country? They will explore our place the more so it's good for our tourism.

    As what they say,
    just a figment of imagination,
But I don't know if the author wishes for those who are
mentioned to ponder, but still I could say it's an overstatement,
there are places far more worse than Manila.

it is all but fiction...as i was watching "bandila" last night if they are going to shoot daw for a movie (inferno) here in the Philippines..they are banned na daw...a friend of mine is currently reading it...the book is very nice daw...mura ra gud na ato da vinci code nga book nga daghan kaayong criticism from Vatican...it makes the people want to read it..thus, increasing sales...in my point of view, dan brown should have at least do more research about the Philippines...but maybe that's why is hurting us because somehow it's true...

Its fiction!!!!!!!!! People from manila should chill. Its part of the story! Ive read several novels where manila and the philippines wasn't put in a good light. But it furthered the book. So it was okay with me.

    Move on people.
