The "fourth" entry in the Killzone franchise was officially announced at Sony's PlayStation 4 reveal event in NYC on February 20, 2013 as Killzone Shadow Fall (or Killzone Shadowfall).

Guerrilla Games portrays the Vektans and Helghans as living side-by-side on a single planet in a "Cold War" like environment in this world. The two populations are separated by a very large, very noticeable wall. Both populations vie with each other over standards of living, resources, and choice of lifestyle.
