We never had imposed our authority because we are always afraid, and always apologetic. Even the foreigners in our turf have the guts to malign us and we still basically allowed them to.

You have a point too. However, we can't at all times take that mind set to all foreigners.
Whatever the reason for incident there may be, it has to be judge fairly. All circumstances should be taken into consideration.

Our feelings ain't gonna prove these foreigners maligning our nation. Killing them upfront won't cause peace, but war.
If we take anger as a shield to show off to these nation -that we, the PH citizens are brave enough to fight back, then we
are causing our nation another danger of captivity, just like what happened thousands of years ago.

A peaceful yet legal way of judging this issue will determine who made the mistake.

What just happened a thousand years ago?

Anyways it would be helpful if the coasties videoed and documented the incident, after all it was inside our recognized territory, not in a disputed area. While the loss of life is regrettable, our laws should also be enforced and respected. Otherwise, why bother at all...

Using a boat as a weapon invited grave consequences. If you turn violent towards the coastguard in foreign waters be prepared to pay a high price. This isn't a game.

As I hear there is a joint investigation now between Taiwan and Philippines
about the incident, I hope that they would not sell out our coast guards for diplomatic
reasons for it will demoralize the force.

The Guang Ta Hsin 28 fishing boat is shown at a harbor in Taiwan before it allegedly came under fire from Philippine Coast Guard personnel on a BFAR vessel (lower photo) patrolling in waters off Batanes.
