    Default Battlestar Galactica (2003/2004)

Arguably the best sci-fi series at present, critically acclaimed and widely viewed with respectable ratings, this has become one of the most successful sci-fi tv series to date along with Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis..

The story begins with a 3 hour miniseries to introduce the characters and the setting. It begins with the following text:

The Cylons were created by Man.
They were created to make life easier on the Twelve Colonies.
And then the day came when the Cylons decided to kill their masters.
After a long and bloody struggle, an armistice was declared.
The Cylons left for another world to call their own.
A remote space station was built...
...where Cylon and Human could meet and maintain diplomatic relations.
Every year, the Colonials send an officer.
    The Cylons send no one.
No one has seen or heard from the Cylons in over forty years.

What follows is one of the most breathtaking miniseries filmed to date.. Due to its success, a full 13 episode season 1 TV series followed, then a 20 episode season 2 then currently season 3 and season 4 is already announced..

I have to admit, never have I been so hooked to a sci-fi series to date, I'm always looking out for the new episode to come out, it's gripping and the story packs lots of substance with adult themes and sometimes goosebump inducing sequences.. (esp. the scenes with Gaius Baltar and that cylon thats always in his head..)

    I highly recommend this series..

    Spot on Nezumix22!

Battlestar Galactica is one of those series that you'd have to see it to believe it. Storyline is so deep, lots of real-world themes like religion, patriotism, terrorism, genocide, suicide bombing, political instability, economic struggle, etc. Acting is superb, special effects are never cheesy, characters are so well-rounded. This simply is just one of the best shows ever.

the boston globe network had a poll of the best sci-fi tv series of all time. BSG is no. 2 on the list, Star Trek (original series) is no. 1 out of respect...but BSG is already on track to becoming number 1. check out the list here: http://www.boston.com/ae/tv/gallery/topscifishows/

    Great news for BSG fans!

    from: http://blastmagazine.com/the-magazin...ci-fi-channel/

Instead of going through withdrawal, fans of “Battlestar Galactica” can breathe a sigh of relief. The Sci Fi Channel has given the green light to both “Caprica,” a prequel to the four-season space war phenomenon, and “Battlestar Galactica: The Plan,” a two-hour TV movie set to air in the fall.

The spin-off series “Caprica” premieres with a two-hour pilot, available on DVD and digital download since April. The pilot will be re-released along with the 18-episode first season of “Caprica,” scheduled for broadcast in early 2010.
