Default When celebrities reveals that they are gay, why the heck do people support it?

'I'm gay': NBA player Jason Collins breaks barrier

"I am extremely happy and proud of Jason Collins. He's a pro's pro. He is the consummate professional and he is one of my favorite 'team' players I have ever coached," Rivers said. "If you have learned anything from Jackie Robinson, it is that teammates are always the first to accept. It will be society who has to learn tolerance."

"I have a feeling he's got a whole new career," King said. "I have a feeling he's going to make more in endorsements than he's ever made in his life."

Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant tweeted that he was proud of Collins, writing: "Don't suffocate who u r because of the ignorance of others," followed by the words "courage" and "support."

Ok, that is kinda weird (bold for intensity). Ma-enganyo mga batang lalaki to be more gay someday, coz people will support them more kung ma-gay na sila. Like, what's the purpose of those supports?

Share your inputs. Unsay purpose ngano ing-ani ni. Hala bira, i know daghan mu-react ani.

TS it is a big issue here sa gawas about it. since most of the time 3rd s** people are always bullied and abused; verbally, physically and psychologically. this people leads to suicidal or they will become s** offender due to they have no or lack of support system. that is why the government specially in the US gives more emphasis to those people who speak with their sexuality publicly. but this doesn't mean that they should dress, act or do feminine stuff, there are some people who can't accept them even how manly they are but the mere fact that they are accepted in the society is already a big help for them. that people are not close minded and that they are belong to the society.

This people who took big leap of hope and faith are brave enough to face the scrutiny of the world. Not only for the 3rd s** but for us normal people we can learn something from them like being courageous in facing problem. just being honest to oneself.

One thing is for sure ts when you made this Thread, you are one of those people unconsciously supported them. kay if wa kay paki why you'll take time to make one...

I think, because it is not a common thing and it needs too much courage to come out in the open and say hey I am gay...
keeping it inside is like lying to yourself and fooling the others. It is a sacrifice to oneself. So, people should show support to give them courage to reveal their true nature. Give courage para maka pahungaw sa gibati. hehehe
