would being a tech support engr at a callcenter help? or any job that would be a good starting point on my career. thanks )

It's a good start.

As long as you stick to your goal. Experience is a good teacher.
Always check requirements or qualifications if its related to your goal 3-5-10 years from now.

also try do some searching, I think there's already an existing thread related to your concern.

Check every Job Ad Published in Newspaper or Online Job site.
See those requirements in particular position you are interested then fill that gaps.

This position does not come overnight. IMHO
