Startup Weekendis a global grassroots movement of active and empowered entrepreneurs who are learning the basics of founding startups and launching successful ventures. It is the largest community of passionate entrepreneurs with over 400 past events in 100 countries around the world in 2011.

The non-profit organization is headquartered in Seattle, Washington but Startup Weekend organizers and facilitators can be found in over 200 cities around the world. From Mongolia to South Africa to London to Brazil, people around the globe are coming together for weekend long workshops to pitch ideas, form teams, and start companies.

All Startup Weekend events follow the same basic model: anyone is welcome to pitch their startup idea and receive feedback from their peers. Teams organically form around the top ideas (as determined by popular vote) and then it’s a 54 hour frenzy of business model creation, coding, designing, and market validation. The weekends culminate with presentations in front of local entrepreneurial leaders with another opportunity for critical feedback.

Whether entrepreneurs found companies, find a cofounder, meet someone new, or learn a skill far outside their usual 9-to-5, everyone is guaranteed to leave the event better prepared to navigate the chaotic but fun world of startups. Gear up and get ready to join the next Startup Weekend Cebu this June 7 to 9.

Startup Weekend is a weekend workshop that gathers software developers, web designers, businessmen and other non-technical people to meet, pitch ideas, form teams and then work, hack and launch a startup in 54 hours.

A “startup company” or “startup” is a term usually applied to new businesses that use web or mobile applications and which are designed for high growth. For example, Facebook was once a startup. And so was Twitter and Instagram. And you all know how big these businesses are now.

Yes, you too, dear reader, can build your own startup company. Whether you have a technical background or not, Startup Weekend workshops will help you get on your path to launch your own startup.

Startup Weekend is a global event organized by volunteers to help individuals learn more about starting a business, making connections, finding resources to validate your business idea and finding a team to help you launch your startup.

We have had two successful Startup Weekend events here in Cebu (SWC) and volunteers from TechTalks.ph are holding the event for the third time on June 7 to 9 at the University of San Carlos Downtown Campus in Cebu City.

Startup Weekend Cebu 3 is open to anyone with a passion and idea for a startup business. It is not only meant for software developers and web designers but also for marketers, product managers, startup enthusiasts and other interested parties to gather and collaborate.

These events all over the world are supported by the Startup Weekend organization itself, a Seattle-based nonprofit. Im Ramil of JCI Mandaue, one of the organizers for Startup Weekend Cebu 3 come June 7~9, 2013.

I would like to invite all to join us. For 54 hours, this June 7~9, 2013, developers, designers, marketers, product managers, and startup enthusiasts will come together to share ideas, form teams, build products and launch startups.
