In one media interview, Janine Tugonon told boyfriend Jaypee Santos: "I’m going to be faithful to you kahit sino pang ma-meet ko, kahit ano pang gawin ko sa buhay ko.".
Now here is the case....
Janine Tugonon has broken up with her boyfriend of one year, her former officemate Jaypee Santos. This was revealed on Tuesday morning during a taped guesting stint by the couple on Kris Aquino’s talk show, “KrisTV”.
“Actually, honestly ngayon we are not in good terms. Siguro may nangyari lang na hindi ko ini-expect na mangyayari… Honestly po kasi break talaga kami ngayon,” she told Aquino.
Tugonon confessed the reason for the split — her constant communication with Danny O’Donoghue, the vocalist of the Irish pop-rock band The Script, which had a concert in Manila on March 31.
Asked if the singer was wooing her, she replied: “Hindi naman sa type, we are talking lang. Pero ano naman ‘yan spur of the moment lang.”
Tugonon said she had made sure to watch The Script’s concert with Santos because she was a big fan of the group, and she had used her connections to get face time with O’Donoghue during the band’s meet and greet at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
She introduced Santos to O’Donoghue after the latter asked her if she had a boyfriend. And then O’Donoghue asked her to follow him on Twitter and vice versa.
This led to a heated argument between Tugonon and Santos, and she decided to break up with him shortly after. “Sabi ko lang sa kanya siguro I need sometime to think talaga,” she explained.
She added that she had realized that O’Donoghue was serious about his intention to get to know her.
“Akala ko kasi si Danny na baka that night lang o nagandahan lang and all. Pero feeling ko siya din ay gusto niyang makilala ako. Actually hindi naman kami ni Danny. Nagte-text siya everyday simula noong nag-concert siya dito.”
A check with her Twitter account on Tuesdat afternoon revealed that Tugonon is currently in France.
“France is indeed a beautiful place. Thank God for a safe trip,” she posted early Tuesday.
Several hours later, she was already aware that news of her break-up had broken back home.
“Buti nlang nasa france ako ngayon,” she tweeted in a conversation with Jonnas Gaffud, the head of her modeling agency, Mercator.
Last December, after Tugonon returned to Manila from her triumphant 1st runner-up finish at the 2012 Miss Universe pageant in Las Vegas, Santos surfaced as her proud boyfriend and immediately received flak in social media for his average looks.
Tugonon even called him God’s gift to her, while he vowed that nothing could bring them apart.
But now the lead singer who sang 'The man who can't be move' is now moving so fast with her....
