how did you know that Jesus was referring to the Catholic Traditions, when the Catholic traditions are with no other purpose but to give God the glory.
how yould you interpret this bible verse then, KJV
2 Thessalonians 2:15
Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the TRADITIONS which ye have been taught, whether BY WORD, or our epistle.
kung mark7:8 ray atong basahun dritso, we might really think that Jesus was referring to any kind of Tradition
but if you read from verses 5 - 8 bro in mark chapter 7
which states:
"So the Pharisees and teachers of the law asked Jesus, “Why don’t your disciples live according to the tradition of the elders instead of eating their food with defiled hands?”
6 He replied, “Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is written:
“‘These people honor me with their lips,
but their hearts are far from me.
7 They worship me in vain;
their teachings are merely human rules.’[a]
8 You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to human traditions.”
Jesus was referring to Old Testament Laws, Jewish Traditions and Mosaic Law for physical righteousness..
as why should one would hold to the partial traditions over the fulfillment(Christ)
and Jesus called them hypocrite cause He knew the reason why the Pharisees asked Him which is to trick Him.
because of their attachment to the Law(Fundamentalism) instead of seeing Jesus as the promised messiah they ended up
missing Him, so till now Jews are still waiting for their messiah, except for Catholic Jews and Messianic Jews.
example would be: one of the reasons why the Pharisees did not believe in Jesus as they were too focused on the scripture where it says no phophet will come from Galilee but missed the part where the messiah was prophesied that He will called a Galilean.
Jesus obviously is the fulfillment of the Jewish tradition and the mosaic law so obviously we should no longer hold unto those traditions
unless you are a Jew like the disciples(though you have the freedom not to)
Point is, when Christ fulfilled the Jewish Law, Christ started a whole new tradition with the new and final covenant
which is later called the Christian tradition or Sacred Traditions..
as Judaism is fulfilled by Christianity.
akong pangutana karun bro, kinsa may nag ingun nimu nga the verse in the book of mark where jesus rebuked the pharisees
refer to the Catholic Tradition?
