talking about food makes me hungry. Banri is good at their specialty ramen and chahan. try chawan mushi and gyudon at nonki. yuuuuummmm!

Hahahaha, good question. But its hard to decide due to the abundant number of Jap-res' in cebu competing with each other. So far, I'd have to bet on the old Azumino, the food doesn't only gives you Japanese taste, but the feel and sorrounding as well. Why? coz even the waitresses know how to speak Nippongo, unlike in any other Jap-res'(COUGH....RAI-RAI-KEN!!) And not only that, also the manager is Japanese and when you've paid the bill she walk's you to your car and wait for you at the front gate, so that when you pass by to leave she gives you a warm bow and says "domo" implying a curteous little way of thank you for your patronage. Now, you cant' get anymore japanese than that, now can you?

But, I'm sad to say Azumino is under a new management, the new manager which is a Filipino dude who is also very familiar with Jap culture told us that some new jap-guy bought off Azumino. But, dont worry the food is still good as ever, and a lot more private now coz they installed new japanese walls with sliding doors for each dining table to give diners more of a private feel while munching on there sushi.

Yeah, I'd have to say Azumino gets my vote. They're located at #1 Paseo Saturino Maria Luisa Entrance Road, Banilad, Cebu City. 032-343-3157

I bump into the former of azumino once is a japanese coffee shop (which had been closed for some reasons) and he told us about his restaurant. Though I haven't been there yet, but I heard a lot of good and bad things about the place. But I guess, it's for them to find out.

My favorite Japanese restaurant here is Nonki located at A.S. fortuna. For me they have the best sushi and sashimi there. I chose to celebrate my birthday there this year. But I only invited a few close friends, coz it's expensive. Though the ambiance is not really into the filipino party but the food had it all. it's really worth the price. And the best yakiniku restaurant is Kanyoen in Castle Peak Hotel. Make a reservation before you go because the place is always packed most especially on weekends.

For casual sushi dinner, Kagura has a good accommodation. Still in A.S. Fortuna, right beside AA BBQ.

Others are in Asia Hotel near Capitol. There's one also near castle Peak, and another fronting Golden cowrie at Salinas Drive. Forgot their names.........hehehe.......
