3 campaigners blame Ouano guard for threats, mauling

THREE supporters of a candidate for councilor in Mandaue City who is allied with mayoral bet Jonas Cortes alleged they were mauled and threatened with a gun by supporters of Cortes’ rival.

Candidate Elston Dabon said that Albert Ceniza, 46, Emilio Misteryo, 46, and Gerry Arnado, 37, suffered injuries in the face, arms and back after they were attacked by armed men.

Dabon said a gun was pointed at him while the perpetrators, one of whom he identified as Frank Simbajon, mauled his three companions.

Simbajon is a bodyguard of Mandaue City Mayor Thadeo Ouano. Ouano’s son Thadeo Jovito is running for mayor against Cortes and Acting Vice Mayor Amadeo Seno Jr.

The mauling, which happened past 1:30 p.m. last May 2 in Sitio Barlap, Barangay Banilad, was reported to the police.
The culprits escaped aboard a white car, bearing government plate SEZ 686.

But Seno said he already recalled City-owned vehicles issued to the Ouanos.

Asked for comment, the Ouanos’ spokesman Jonjie Gonzales said the complaint “is a product of the imagination” of the rival camp to divert the issue from Cortes’ lack of support for Mandaue City College

ang sunstar i think is pro ouano. obvious kaau. wa gyud lami basta bati na gani sa ouano ang hisgotan, pero ug bati na gani sa cortes...perte jud taasa sa ila column. pareha atong grado ni jonas...mura jud ug speech sa presidente sa america perteng taasa.
