Is it considered abuse to consent
with your full knowledge and understanding that you will give up earthly things to serve the Lord?
The Catholic Church has considered each and every station in life as a calling. Married life, religious life, single blessedness, and priesthood are our vocations.
If dili mo-fit sa imoha, you always have the freedom to move on. Even ordained priests sometimes has to ask permission from the bishop in order to marry, because they just found out that they can serve the Lord better as married persons.
The vows that priests and religious take are similar to what married couples promise, which is FIDELITY to the faith and to your calling as a priest or as a married person.
Take note, whatever your vocation is, whether you are married , religious, single, and priest you have a duty to serve the Lord in the best way that you can. In this case, mas bug at ang responsibility sa priests to God kay wala man sila lahing atimanon, but the things that pertain only to Him.
