I know that you know that name. The long serving mayor of Davao city who turned Davao a once hotspot of kidnappers and other criminals into what it is today. Time Magazine called him THE PUNISHER. One of the highlights of his life was when, during the 80's, the police gathered an intelligence report that a kidnapping group was on the loose and was about to get out of Davao together with their ransom. Mayor Duterte and his Death Squad was already on the bridge and used their vehicles as a barricade to thwart the fugitives. The criminals refused to surrender and as a result lost their lives in that moment. What a MAYOR!
But why do Human Rights castigate him? He only kills criminals. The CHR acts as if they are protecting the barbaric and atrocious ones. He is so brave and I admire it. Recently, he expunged the police officer who was found guilty of selling drugs and he issued a caveat to that officer's comrades that they will get the same treatment if they will not get out of Davao city within 24 hours ..as he said "SORRY NALANG".
I really wondered why he is fearless, then I saw one sunday morning in his TV program he was castigating a barangay captain that was rumored protecting drug pushers in his locale, Duterte told him "Ayaw pagpakaulaw sa ato kaliwat. Maranao pud ko galing lang gipadako ko na Catholic. ALLAH will decide."
Normally, here in Mindanao we viewed our Islamic brothers as dauntless too. Maybe his Maranao blood contributes to his bravery? LOL.
In an interview, Duterte was asked about the dissapearances and deaths of convicted felonies, RAPISTS, drug-related criminals, heists and etc...He answered: "They cannot MONOPOLY evil". I really like the way he manages the city. Let me end up by asking a question. Here in the Philippines there are only two kinds of Politicians. One is the kinds of Duterte. The other is those politicians who serves as a backstops or support the Criminals.
Just elect the lesser evil.
