I don't think the dude contended that English is a "National" language...

My take: ok ra oi. More of our brothers are earning more-than-decent salary just by knowing how to speak good English. If it benefits our people, it must be good.

Although di nato kalimtan ato roots. Of course.

it would be a good idea. what i hate lang sa uban tawo bisan improper kaayo, english gihapon. because in some places man gud sa Pinas, the people you talk to in english makafeel inferior sila.

As long as naa sa sakto nga lugar okay ra nako. Pero unta pud nato kalimtan, una ta gusto madunggan sa mga tawo sa lagyong dapit, adto ta una nga madunggan sa atong silingan.

I don't have any problem with that. A lot of nationalities don't speak any word of English so why pick on our brothers/sisters if they speak "carabao" or perfect english? It's a free country. You can express yourself in any language you want.

Please, please, please, do not discriminate our marginalized kababayans.

...and some (if not all) foreign companies prefer to locate here in the Philippines mainly because of that fact... aside of course our technical capabilites.

Being proud of the roots, syempre. I am presently in Manila, i make every effort to speak Cebuano so i can attract attention of any Bisayan or Cebuano nearby, or even Tagalogs. But i speak Taglish here since i am not fluent in Tagalog (and i want to improve my english rather than my tagalog).

right language/dialect in the right place and in the right time...

if you have viewed a documentary about dialect/language sa youtube, pero naa naghatag ug link ato diri sa istorya you will get my point.
the person said ba, nga nagno man nga if kita bisaya adto sa manila tagalog man but if tagalog ari sa Cebu tagalog man gihapon?
not to discriminate tagalogs ha, much better pa lagi ang foreigner kay maningkamot pa dayon makat-on ug bisaya.
