Nexus phones are Google controlled.
my experience with Sony before is that they're slow to update when it comes to their OFFICIAL firmware

i'm not aware that they've already opened the drivers of their phones (especially the recent ones, not just xperia z) to the public. if that's the case, then i guess that's great for third-party developers and for those who like flashing custom roms

yes as long as the device carries the Nexus name regardless of the brand, it is fast to update to the latest OS version

The Xperia Z screen is a 1080p Full Hd screen. And if you are into photography Sony is best known for their cameras. And their qualities are known to be great. But the hTc also looks promising.

if you're really into photography, you shouldn't be using a cameraphone.

invest instead on a real slr camera at minimum

speaking for myself only, when it comes to a smartphone, a 5MP camera with a decent camsensor is enough for me just for taking quick pictures to upload on social media sites. nothing fancy like super-duper-ultra-mega high quality pictures pero sa instagram or facebook ra diay i-upload hahaha

as for the HD screen of Xperia Z, think again. HD tuod pero dili kuno kaayo nindot ang quality og viewing angle sa screen basing on the initial reviews. mas nindot pa daw slightly ang HTC nga Super LCD and cannot compete against the Retina of Apple and Super AMOLED of Samsung. against based lang ni on the initial reviews. who knows maybe Sony will have a quick update to improve the screen

Bitaw poor viewing angles ang xperia z. Sayang ang 1080p nga screen. IPS LED Backlight man unta. Regarding sa S-LCD sa htc on m7 why man di maka compete against sa retina display sa apple ug amoled screens? Nga to think toshiba ug sony namam nag supply sa ilang panels? Mas better pa gani siguro ang screen sa m7 kay 440ppi diba? Please enlighten me on that one, sir. And also regarding the photography I meant mobile photography lang as a lingaw2x lang but in terms of photography in literal siyempre SLR camera gyud gamiton. Hope matubag nimo akong pangutana bahin sa display panels, sir.

    How about this?

    The HTC One

    4.7-inch LCD screen (1,920 x 1,080 pixels); 468ppi (the iPhone 5 packs 326ppi, by comparison)
4-megapixel "UltraPixel" camera offers better image quality and low-light performance
    Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 1.7GHz processor
    Beats Audio technology
    2GB RAM
    32GB or 64GB internal storage
    4G LTE
    NFC technology
