bro, iv just read sa newspaper today... the church is having the authority regarding the activities during the ceremony. naa sila gitawag nga Commision on Worship. dapat ang wedding planner nakaregister sa ilaha, wala nay mga doves, butterfiles, rice seeds, petals, etc. (pwede siguro kwaknet hehehe), ang mga flowergirls naa nay age limit ug dapat naka1st communion na, ang entourage kay dapat catholic, ug daghan pa. and this is effection monday after easter sunday. they are bringing back the sacrecy of the ceremony... and medyo menos gastos na sad :mrgreen:

Im planning to get married soon, as in this year hopefully

But Im hitting a snag regarding the paperworks for filing for the church wedding.
Does anybody know the procedures or requirements for me, a non-catholic, to marry a Catholic person in a Catholic church?
My fiance is a Catholic while I am Protestant, we are planning to get married in a Catholic Church maybe the church near Campo Lapu2x in Lahug.

Any suggestions?

i don't want to burst any bubble here but being of different religions i hope na talk it over with your family na you're marrying a catholic? nice man gyud na wala samaan ng loob from iether party before the wedding. talk it over pud gyud with your fiance where you both stand in your faith para di mo cause ug problem when married na mo. wedding is just a ceremony. what you should prepare is for marriage.

You may inquire sa Church (Sacred Heart, Alliance of Two Hearts, Cathedral, etc...) where you decide to hold the ceremony. They will give you instructions and a checklist. Plus duna na special requirement if one of the parties is not a Catholic. The Parish will then direct you to Patria de Cebu for you to accomplish.

The same situation with my cousin.
My cousin (the bride) is a Catholic and the groom is Protestant.
Nag convert ang groom to catholic and they got married in
Sacred Heart in cebu.
