I tried bootxp and stylexp's boot changer.. got me into trouble.. all I got were BLUE SCREENS instead of boot screens. Left a bad taste in the mouth. Never gonna try again.

I use WindowBlinds (IMO better than StyleXP), the latest version is very light on system resources. What is also good about it is how you can change progress animations as well.

IconPackager, AveDesk, and Konfabulator.. some other desktop pimpin' software you can try..

heh, you were probably using incompatible bootscreens VC#. I ran into those also and didn't bother trying to change something I saw once a month anymore.

2.) Im using style XP's Bootlog and it seems ok but now I get an OS menu to boot with windows same partition with edited bootlog and the normal one. Is there a way to remove this?

SO any1 got the answer to this?

i would'nt recommend deleting those entries in your boot menu selector unless you are absolutely and positively sure that the new bootloader works

having said that, there are 2 ways to manually edit your boot menu that i know of... first, go to my computer->properties->advanced->startup and recovery->settings->edit... the second way is to open my computer->tools->folder options->view. select show hidden files and folders, uncheck hide protected operating system files... go to drive where you installed windows (mine is in drive c) and look for boot.ini. that file controls your boot menu...

Ok thanks to chronnus for leading me to desktopX So im trying it out now. Im trying to figure out these objects. Some work right away and some do absolutely nothing, like the HD object and Folder object. WHen I load them they do nothing, when I right click, you cannot link them to a folder Any ideas?

hey you guys got any idea on how to make your windows xp look like windows vista? the closest i got is a longhorn skin for windowblinds...but it can't do the transparency thingy with the windows....

can anyone suggest something?
