I'd say MJ he's a basketball icon...but....

The Black Mamba has the potential to be greatest. It's amusing how everybody is saying that Kobe has those rings because of Shaq. Well, MJ has those 6 rings because of Pip. Shaq and Kobe couldn't have done it without each other and neither does MJ and Pip. It's also amusing that everybody is saying that Kobe is such "a ballhog and I hate him".....the irony is....during MJ's time they also were saying the same things. I should know coz' I watched, hated and everntually appreciated MJ and Kobe.

Both can inspire their teams to play better but unfortunately for the Mamba, the supporting cast that he is surrounded especially his 2nd scorer is very inconsistent in both offense and defense. Odom is a far cry from Pip in terms of performance and durability.

ahhh... finally, somebody with a basketball sense.. everyone here is saying that kobe was lucky to have shaq, what i thought though was that shaq was lucky because of kobe..

i'd say shaq is lucky right now..cos wade is back.
shaq is old now..he's not as dominant(BIG ARISTOTLE) as before.

About MJ and Kobe

Well lets say MJ has 6 rings to prove it. (Highest scoring ppg, numerous MVPs..etc)
Kobe still has a lot to prove though but he sure broke a lot of records that MJ didn't.

If only Kobe have a good supporting cast, and win some rings then he will be like MJ..
right now.. no one can compare to MJ not even LBJ.

guys jordan cud not win rings w/o his 4 teamates sa court ... so as kobe ... its needs a team to win not a player ... jordan needs PIPPEN, RODMAN, & others so is Shaq ...... Shaq cud not win alone he needs Kobe or Wade ... i too like Kobe....he's unbelievable what he can do on the court. He helps the NBA right now by entertainting the fans with his scoring spree game.

For MJ...well i'm not a bulls fan. but i have a huge RESPECT for him. we can't deny that he's a basketball god. no doubt.

For me, Jordan is the best. He started the NBA's highest level type of games. After younger players saw his abilities and prowess... everyone followed suit. As for Kobe, he's only popular because of his skils but when it comes team play, he is just as any crocs swimming in the lake... to each his own.

I'd go for 6 rings than 3 rings. Plus, whenever Jordan goes, he generates revenues for the home team.
