kobe's skills as an individual is God like = true, but basketball is a team effort, and jordan is the better team player.

so MJ gets my vote

if we really compare by their ripeness... Jordan is more mature than Kobe... jordan had got his first trophy when he was 28 yrs old... kobe is now 28 yrs old (29 this August) still searching his own one....

I'd say MJ he's a basketball icon...but....

The Black Mamba has the potential to be greatest. It's amusing how everybody is saying that Kobe has those rings because of Shaq. Well, MJ has those 6 rings because of Pip. Shaq and Kobe couldn't have done it without each other and neither does MJ and Pip. It's also amusing that everybody is saying that Kobe is such "a ballhog and I hate him".....the irony is....during MJ's time they also were saying the same things. I should know coz' I watched, hated and everntually appreciated MJ and Kobe.

Both can inspire their teams to play better but unfortunately for the Mamba, the supporting cast that he is surrounded especially his 2nd scorer is very inconsistent in both offense and defense. Odom is a far cry from Pip in terms of performance and durability.

MJ's makes his team mate become a better player when they play with him,.... even his team mates said it in an interview

Believe it coz I just said so.....MJ couldn't have done it without Pip's 20+PPG and all defensive team performance that made Pip one of the 50 greatest players. You can all put an argument that MJ made everybody better and blah blah blah and cite some interviews too but heck even Kobe and Shaq's teammates were saying the same thing it's just that....the caliber of support that MJ had was different compared to what Kobe has....a very far cry.

Gladly....Kobe and Shaq were named co-captains for 2000-2002 seasons, then on 2003 they included rick fox as one of the Tri-Team Captains. As far as the main guy...BOTH were the go-to guys. On their first championship, Shaq was the scoring leader. 2nd was both Shaq and Kobe but 3rd it was mamba. True that Shaq dominates.....but he couldn't do it without help or the breathing room that Kobe can bring otherwise he will always be double or triple teamed. Same is true for Kobe if he doesn't get help.
