sayon ra ang mag unbrick ug phone. so long as mo load pa ang fastboot, you should be able to push recovery.img to your phone. this method works if naay sd card imong phone and unlocked ang bootloader.

download the android sdk, (the easy way is find a rooting tool, any rooting tool will do, in the installation folder, find the folder which contains the adb and fast boot, move those files in the root of your drive C and name it as android. find the recovery.img for your phone in clockworkmod recovery place it in the same folder.

    boot your phone in fastboot
open cmd, type of "cd .." repeat till what is left is "C://"
    then enter "cd android"
then enter "fastboot flash recovery recovery-file-name. img" where recovery-file-name. img is the file name your recovery file

it will tell you if the transfer of the file was successful

then download your favorite ROM and flash it.

if dili unlocked, find the RUU for your phone, boot in fastboot mode (power down and press power), connect your phone to PC (32 bit system), then run the RUU. the only prep you need to do is to install all drivers for your phone into the PC. Just remember, restoring your phone will wipe all your data.

If you can still boot to fastboot or download mode...then its not a brick, and from the method you described..Its basic flashing of cwm or any other recovery tools that has to do with HTC phones.. and Ruu's ( Rom Update Utility) are HTC specific....
It is advisable to flash every partition /boot /system /recovery /data when it comes to a samsung android phones or risk a brick
Use Odin or Heimdall if you want the whole process done correctly...
