I find the comment section of the article more interesting.

What a terrible title Robert! You need to read up on anti-missile systems. Just because they could fry a missile on a tether under optimal conditions, doesn't mean they can even hold a candle to ANY operations anti-missile system out there, particularly one as successful as Iron Dome.
This stuff is hard and frying the missile is the easiest part, acquiring, and intercepting is much harder.
Also Beam Systems suffer some horrible drawbacks, like not working under lots of kinds of atmospheric conditions, susceptibility to easy countermeasures (like painting it with a reflective paint (note the test missile was black, the easiest colour to fry.... jeez)) and a need for ludicrous amounts of power in the field.

well, didn't you know that america has a vast of oil reserves, they are one of a few countries that doesnt need to depend on arab oils.

super advance kaayo ang america in terms of weapons, the other countries are miles away in technology. if this will be added to the defense system of the states,then its a very good deterrent from missiles aimed at the us territory.
