Finish Deception Point, Dan Brown's Hardy Boy-esque techniques of red herrings in this yet another whodunnit of his still worked on me even if I already read "Code" and "Demons" prior to it.....

Frankly, I like religious controversies, apathy is an enemy of religion... passionately discussing of spiritual things is better than reciting kilometric prayers only during funerals in hopes of saving some of the inevitably damned or crossing ourselves to keep from vampires and mishaps on the road...
well religion has all it's quirks and stuffs..some prays by kissing floor all day, some meditates like stone, some worships the rats..but as the saying goes, to each his own..might as well leave it that way if i were you.

Finished reading Angels and Demons. Boy, I kept wishing Jack Bauer was there. It felt like a weak and preposterous season of 24.

I can conclude that Dan Brown has the potential to be a good writer but is too obsessed with details and factoids that he never fails to rise above mediocrity.

He probably needs a co-writer. So many things to like, since Dan Brown is great at collecting and assembling and connecting crazy wacky historical shit. He needs a guy who knows how to flesh out the characters; the people in the book seem to run on some weird auto pilot, with REALLY bad dialogue and the mechanical reactions to the events around them.

Worst of all was how he wasted his villain. I thought the villain was cool at the start for being cold and diabolical. But then Dan Brown pulls a 180 and all bets were off. How could a character who made such logical and devious plans suddenly just lose it.

Up to the climax, the story was okay. Then, Brown gave us a Scooby Doo ending.

Oh, I hope the movie will be better.

Yes, the characters are 2 dimensional, but for some reason I felt the Scooby Doo villain was really fleshed out so the revelation in the end wasn't contrived

I liked the recurring theme of opposites and balance....

    Male - Female

    Matter - Antimatter

    Science - Religion

    Crucifixion - Ressurection

and finally after the reveal -

    Horror and Hope

    and hence the title; Angels............

    and Demons.
