Default 2.5" Laptop SATA Hard Drive to be installed on a PC Desktop

I am planning to install a 2.5" Laptop SATA HD to a Desktop PC... Is this OK? Nag-research ko sa Google about this and naglibog ko sa mga tubag ug advice sa mga laing Forums... Some say OK daw while some said dili kay 5V daw ang kelangan lang sa Lappy HD while ang MOLEX daw sa PC is 12V daw or something to that effect... I'm sure naa na gyud nakasulay diri ug taod ani so please help me... by the way ang PSU nako wala siya'y sata power connector... MOLEX ra iyaha so i will use a MOLEX to SATA adapter para ma-connect siya sa Lappy HD... naa ba ko kelangan i-modify o putlon nga wire sa MOLEX? i don't want to damage the HDD gyud... thanks in advance sa mutabang...

yes you can use it. and yes you have to have the molex to SATA converter and maybe a 3.5 to 2.5 converter sad para ma plastar nimo sa imong case.

thanks sa reply sir... yes, i have the molex to sata converter but i do not have a "3.5 to 2.5 converter"... but i did find out that i could actually screw on the drive to the HDD cage of the case (HP Pavilion nga PC) so I think ma-plastar ni siya.. pero sir with regards to the voltage, naa pa ba ko lain buhaton sa molex? di ba upat man na siya (yellow for +12V, two blacks for ground, then red for +5V)... ang HDD sa lappy 5V ra man nakabutang... does this mean that i need to remove or cut the yellow wire? or ok ra ba kung dili na?

nag-gamit ka ug molex to sata adapter sir? or naa na gyud sata power imo PSU? kini man gud nga PSU wala siya'y available nga sata power connector... MOLEX connector ra gyud... hence the need for molex to sata adapter para ma-connect siya kay sata hdd man... concerned lang ko sa unsa posible mahitabo sa HDD kay dili ni ako PC... hehehe.. basin unya makasala ko... anyways, ako lang klarohon sir... no need to modify any connectors or wires sa MOLEX? then gamitan nako ug Molex to Sata adapter then paslak diretso sa HDD?
