I don't get Abola's logic. BPO's might close shop due to the appreciating, stronger peso but generally we will have a better economy in the long run. The money will simply transfer to other businesses or industries and those sectors will be hiring soon.

what sectors do you reckon they will transfer to? will those sectors pay as much as the BPOs do? Will they provide the same benefits the BPOs do? If not, then say hello to more brain-drain...

In the first place BPO's didn't came here because the Philippines is cheaper than India (even up to now I think they are way cheaper), they came here because of the better skills the Filipinos possess.

You make the mistake of assuming that a strong currency is indicative of a strong economy. It's not necessarily that way.
