I'm a Flash MX Pro 2K newbie. I'm actually studying isometric art right now but
I'm not really sure where indie Cebu Flash designers and developers are making
money. Are they making money making digital art or are they making money
developing usable, real-world applications? Both?

It would be nice if there is a local group fostering shared growth -- knowledge
and wealth.

Flash dev are gaining momentum this year.... most site that need cool intro or interactive would include flash in there site...

anyone interested on dynamic easing,oop design AS.20(use class), reading data XML. dynamic creation of content, load photo outside flash, play sound make ur own mp3 player your own album with lyrics...whew daghana oist.. hehehe ??

but if you really want hands on training and program in fla and manual. it would be nice 1.2k 2 days jump start ur flash skills. specially on actionscripting. will provide computer and manual mura computer laboratory style.. hehehe..

I used to program in Java (J2ME mostly) and played around with C++ so AS 2.0
should be a breeze. I'm not thinking about "trivial" applications but software
engineering using Flash MX Professional 2004 and of course it's scripting language.

We should start from requirements engineering up to acceptance testing. I'm
particularly interested in seeing how UML maps to AS 2.0 OO framework
considering it's still not pure OO as Java or C++.

I'm also excited about integrating PHP and Flash. I know there are a lot of good
books on the subject but I'm waiting for the new edition that focuses on PHP 5 and
AS 2.0.

I'm not really all that excited about intros because I usually skip them.
I think a lot of people misuse Flash this way. Intros are good if you're
making a game or online cartoons or movies but come on, an intro for an e-commerce site.

I mean if I want to buy something, I want to see the goods right away,
dont' show me a sexy avatar unless you're the kind of guy who gets
turned on by sexy women endorsing Tanduay or sports cars

i cant read a darn thing but i really appreciate everything.. the bg sound, the bg colors.. the neat and sweet preloaders... darn.. everything except for the very some language! ehehhhe..

this russians really know their way with flashscripting and aethetics and color balance, plus the compact size of the scenes. whew.. isnt it sweet?

btw.. just tinker on the site.. you'll see the credits of the team who made the site possible. 8 of them.. (all in russian names though)..
