The church has a hand in the overpopulation of the country. But if you ask me the primary cause is the lack of jobs and/or poverty. Think about it...

A lot of people in the Philippines are either unemployed or underemployed, which makes them idle--and idleness induces the situation to procreate.

Keep the people busy, and they won't get busy.
