MANILA -- Malacanang remained mum Tuesday on the reported suspension order that will be issued against Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia.

Supporters of Garcia trooped to the Capitol grounds after supposedly hearing reports that a suspension order will be issued against the governor in connection with the administrative case for usurpation of authority that was investigated by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Interior Secretary Manuel Roxas II admitted that Garcia's case was investigated by the late Interior secretary Jesse Robredo and was submitted to the Office of the President "for their review and action."

The Office of the President reportedly issued a ruling on the case but officials have yet to confirm it. Garcia's camp also called the President's office to verify the report and it was told that no such order was issued.

The governor's camp considers the supposed ruling and suspension order a rumor.

Garcia's spokesman Rory Jon Sepulveda told dyLA that the governor's camp has no idea of the supposed preventive suspension order issued by Malacanang. If ever it is true, Sepulveda said Garcia has legal and judicial alternatives for whatever might happen.

As a show of support for Garcia, her supporters decided to hold a prayer vigil at the Capitol compound until 8 p.m. Tuesday.
