Update on the BPI-PNB merger. The exclusivity talks ended last December 15 with no recent disclosures coming from either parties. With that being said, there's no merger for BPI and PNB just yet.
There are some rumors circulating around that BDO is putting up a bid for PNB.

bad experience nko sa PNB before kay mangaltas sila sa remittance nko bisan nagbayad nko ug service fee sa gawas.... mao balhin na lang ko sa MB, kay ug pila ako ipadala converted to peso mao ra man gihapon ang figure pagkuha sa kwarta...

Nagkadugay ang PNB ug Allied kay nagka walay ayo ilang service mao ni balhin ko BPI.
Metrobank unta, kaso lang kay grabe pud ka dako ang maintaining balance...

that's what i am thinking too. I think this is a good move for BPI. Bias man ko coz BPI account holder man gud ko.

Na threat cguro ni sila ug gamay sa mga acquisitions sa eastwest bank ug bdo.. eastwest just got full control over greenbank while bdo kay ni salo sa export bank and other small banks.. Im not sure kung si kinsa ang ni salo sa rural pero at least maayo ni ang merge para kay sus maryusep kaayo ni ang allied sa legaspi branch ug mambaling.

Definitely a good sign.
I take that sooner or later, we would have 2-3 Major Bank Institutions left in the country and would be like HK wherein they are also tasked to handle their currency which they are doing a good job.
