OFWs hurt by strong Philippine peso

sakto ni bai..nindot kung mag import ta..But pila man kabook ang importers sa pinas (kinsa man ni sila)? clearly, they are those who are living on top of the food chain (most of them that is). OIL is our biggest imported product which affects us all..karon, kinsa may nalipay jud? niubos na ba ang presyo sa electric or sa pletehan? wa pajud bai.. pila na ka roll back og tag 50cents but increase dayon og 2 pesos next week ang gas..ingon ana ang trend ron... isnt that called greed?

di pud ko ka sulti og greed bai on the part sa importers... kai ang demand sa gasolina nagka dako man gud kai nagka daghan pud ta. sa kalibutan.. maybe ang greed nga part is ang mga big companies dili willing mo venture out to clean/renewable energy. kai hadlok sila di maka control sa presyo.

But importation is not the thing that will make a country rich in the long run.

OT ni pero naa lang koy na remember. I have this American friend, he's been doing business in Silicon Valley for the longest time. Adtong early 2000's, nag decide sya mo try open tech business sa Cebu. Ning sulti jud siya nko nga grabe iyang naagian nga red tape and corruption/extortion. I didn't probe kung kinsa mga tawo involved specifically, pero naka comment jud intawon siya nga wala'g tuo ang mga nang kurakot. He even convinced a British friend to open up a similar business in Cebu. Naka assist pa ko adto sa hiring process for prospective employees. Initially, the British guy sounded optimistic, pero closed up shop and left after a year. My friend followed suit a few years later, and went back to Silicon Valley. Gisamokan jud sa kurakot, red tape etc etc
Sayang mga opportunities nawala sa atong nasud because of this problem, kapoyan mga foreigners makig deal sa atong sistema nga wa dire aw didto. LOL

@silent-Kill: sakto na imo bai..but naa man juy taw bai nga mao ra jud ang sweldo..like parehas sa imong katabang. you can't blame them why mao ra jud ilang kaya. same ni namong mga OFW bai (im not saying we are helpless ha?!), My contracts says i cant do sideline jobs, should i do it anyway bisan against na sa contract nako? saving money or investing is a totally different subject bai. ang issue gud diri kay ang DAILY needs nga atong ipadala. ang budget na makuha-an. i already have my investments but wa man na nakawagtang sa problema nga mo us-us nasad ang dollar. dba?! bottomline, i will still continue to lose unless the govt will intervene or at least i have a pay raise bisan 10% lang..hahaha

so as an OFW, am i considered Greedy as one POSSER here said?

exactly the point bai.. we need a REAL GOVT intervention. nabuhat na sa lain nasud , namely US og China. i dont know if nakakita naba ka atong kang micheal moore nga "CApitalism, a love story". Over rasad kaayo to sya but the idea is there. we need to venture towards rnewable energy. or sa LPG lang naa man toy nadiscover nga dako nga deposit unsa naman ang balita ato? diba way gibuhat ang govt? naa naba? We should abolish OIL deregulation law..

tan-awa ang china bai.. karon nipalit nasad sila og dakong share sa OIL company sa CANADA who controls their electricy.. ang ilang OIL company diri kay partly owned sa GOVT..karon, nganon nabuhat man nila? we hate china so much sa issue sa panatag shoal but claro kaayo kita rasad ang gimanipulate sa atong gov't.

nakadungog ko 2 weeks ago, nadiscuss ni nila erwin Tulfo og martin andanar sa Radyo5. ilang gipangutana tong isa ka Govt rep nga maayo ba ning nahitabo nga niubos ang dolyar nga daghan man ang ni mo labi na ang OFW og BPO..nitubag tong rep nga mas ok daw kay barato na kaayo para nato ang pagpalit og OIL para sa atong electrity?! whaaatttt? oil? hahaa kung di padaw kuno ni, mas mahal daw atong mabayran sa kuryente? wwhaaat?! nakapangutana jud ko, then if kusog ang OIL IMPORTATIOn, then isnt it about time to monitor THEIR pockets? Abolish the oil deregulation law..tan-awn ta kung magcge paba ni?!

bisan ako wa ko sideline ron.. lisod kaau ang fix income hahaha pro invest2x lang ko ginagmay may nalang. dako dkao pud ko gasto sa balay bai kai retired na ako mga parents... single man ta ko pro mura napud kog minyo kai naa koi gipang buhi hahaa.. so same2x ra basin tag situation bai.. naa lang ko pinas.. minus mingaw.. minus pud sa earnings haha.
