Its not greed if you are working your ass off to provide your family.. No Rich people would want to become an OFW.. If these people are working overseas, I dont think they want to amass all the wealth out there.. They just simply want to provide their family with better standard of living.. Ask how many OFW would prefer to work in our own country and would rather be with their family if only our country can provide better oppotunity..

Because that is what it is man gud boss Proj.

OFWs hurt by low exchange rate?

cmon.. pasalamat pa gani mo nga naa moy trabaho.

saman, apil pud ka dagkot didto sa Sto Niņo kay mag ampo nga "bason mahimong 80 ang exhange rate?"

as OFW, we live with what we have. live accordingly.

I serve a capitalist government, but I am not greedy.

ot: bai, i think you are missing the bigger picture. you are only looking at P2 per USD difference where in fact it already dropped more than P15 per dollar for the past 8 years. yet ang presyo sa basic commodities continues to raise. the main reason people complain is the fact that the govt has not done anything to improve our situation (if they are, most people cant feel it).

I belive that the people/ofw who are hurt are the dollar earners. But if you are in singapore (or other part of the globe who's salary is not based on USD), then it is a different story & you would have a different reaction to this news.

Mas daku man akong sweldo as an OFW compare sa akong sweldo if naa ko sa Pinas.

So why man masakit ko if AKO rasad diay ISA sa hinungdan nga nisaka ang PESO?

PLUS i know nga ang pagsaka sa PESO dunay ikahatag nga kaayuhan sa economiya dha ug dunay mahatag nga kaayuhan sa uban Pinoy, so kana lan daan murag dapat ikalipay nah na.....

sakto ka bai, we have to live according to what we have. our Capacity to earn dictates our choosen lifestyle doesn't it? I doubt that OFW's are praying for that miracle (exchange rate going to 80). i believe we want something stable para di ta magcge adjust sa atong gastohon while prices are still going up. PASALAMAT kay naa mi trabaho? cmon?! really? try telling that to the DH who earns less than 300USD who works in the middle east. tsk tsk tsk.

sorry to say bai, but you are missing the bigger picture. having a job is different outside the country is different from having a job with your family. & i will say this again, the people who are really affected with this are the people you are indeed earning in USD.

It's not jud the OFWs who are hurt by this. have you considered the plight of our rattan and other furniture exporters, or the foreign based companies who have to pay salaries to our millions of BPO workers nationwide? they have to shell out more because of the high peso. the problem with our country is even though the peso is appreciating, our purchasing power is decreasing. just ponder on this, in the US, you can buy a new Honda Civic for $20K. average salary there for a professional is about $6K per month. if we have the same situation here, I would have bought two cars already, but even if my salary is above than most of us working here, I still can't afford to buy one.

OFW, maski asa ka ma destino, as long as it is outside the Philippines, the exchange rate of any X currency against the Philippine Peso will affect you. Most currencies in the world are rated against the US Dollar.

It is a complex game theory always changing.

It just happens that changes in one aspect, parameter, element, occur at different time scale as your exchange rate.

Hurting ka sa lost PHP15 per dollar nimo? Aw, pauli lang gud. Dili na ka masakitan pa ana.

sakto ka nga isa ra sad ko (kay OFW man ko) sa reason why nisaka ang peso.. as an OFW dako na kaayo tag natabang sa govt in terms of economy bai, sa remittance daan & how bout the pogi points nga down ang unemployment rate sa pinas (which is a diff topic, i know, but worthy to be mentioned nalng sad). If OFW ka, then i would say sakto ka mas dako jud ang sweldo nato compared sa naa sa pinas but isn't that the reason why nainganyo ta nga motrabaho sa gawas? But how bout tong mga DH who earns less than 300USD? have you ever thought unsa na kadako nga epekto sa ilaha?

as an OFW myself, i know how to budget my expenses but what if you already maxed out your budget? pahonongon nalng nato ang atong anak ani nga nagskwela og private school? or mopahawa nalng ta sa atong gi utang nga balay para mo rent og mas gamay nga balay? if mao nay toyo, then why did we sacrifice this far then? simple ra ang news bai, OFWs who earns in USD did really got hurt but not to the extent that we will come back to the phils to find a job there. kabalo ta tanan nga WALAY work nga makit-an didto (or pipila nalay nahalibin). as PINOY we are always resilient to these things, sometimes that is the reason why we are taken advantage by our ever supportive govt.
