No problem with me so far with my samsung optical drives. Depende ra pud cguro na sa paggamit...well it could be one factor pud. Plus dili cya mamili ug discs.

have you tried using those really cheap generic disc

i use those for data transfer, ako asus drive mag lisod og read usahay..

may be its the CDR itself not the Burner(writer) fault ......

You can check & download an updated firmware from your Combo manufacturer if it helps.

By the way, I used AOpen Combo COM4824?AAH model & it works fine mostly in many disc I tried. It's affordable but thumbs up!

i also have a samsung combo. no loud humming at all when i play dvd movies. wala pajud koy problem with anything for the past 7 months. mas nag-una pa kadaut ang Lite-on sa akong uyab. :mrgreen:

dvd rom nako nga sony guba kay ang motor niya nangatang2x ang bulitas sa ilawm. 1.5yrs nako gamit

akong samsung cd-rom saba sad kung mu-read og disk, labi na pagsulod jud nimo sa disk..."hhhhhhhhhhhuuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmm...." heheh..its annoying..but its durable, i think...no problems so far..and i've been using it for 20 months now...akong sony cd-rw maoy dali ra naguba! sayang jud kay out of warranty period pa jud naguba...i think naay problem sa lens ani niya kay when i clean it using a cd-cleaner mu-read siya, kaso after pila kagamit mabuta nasab..di na makabasa og disk...guba na jud ni sah??

anyway, i've got my eyes on a lite-on combo drive...is it good? durable? ok to use with generic cds? dili saba? kay sa pc express tag 2,400 ra....my other choice is a samsung combo which is 2,900 nalang karon sa tti and octagon SM bcoz of the mallwide sale....care to help me out...? thanks daan!

Go for Lite-on considering the price......
Durability - yes! my friends can tell
Generic CDS- yes dili sad kono mamili.....

I'm planning to upgrade i'll go for Liteon

same here mo saba pud akong samsung whenever mo insert ko ug dvd....

ok raman wala man problema so far...

still happy with my samsung its been 11month old.. on heavy use
