We Can Change A Life... Be a Channel of Blessing for the Victims of Typhoon Pablo

The Philippines is again besieged by a calamity. This is an opportune time to share our blessings and show to ourselves that we still have in us the spirit of "bayanihan". We should become channels of blessing. Let people know about God’s love through our giving.You may think that your contribution is small and not worth giving at all, but believe me, every contribution, if made with compassion, goes a long, long way. There are lot of designated drop off center like Philippine Red Cross , GMA KAPUSO FOUNDATION, ABS-CBN SAGIP KAPAMILYA, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and a lot more. Im not sure if Istorya.net is organizing one too since is a big and known Visayan online community.

What ISTORYANS can do:

1. Donate in kind and bring them to designated drop-off centers. You may donate the following:

• food: canned goods, instant noodles, rice, milk, and other non-perishable goods. Please refrain from sending Pork products.
• bottled drinking water
• medicines and medical supplies
• clothes, underwear, shoes, slippers, diapers,socks
• blankets, sleeping bags, mats, mosquito nets, etc.
• personal hygiene products: shampoo, soap, deodorant, etc.

2. Donate medicines and medical supplies are needed:

• Oral Rehydration Salts
• Antibiotics (broad spectrum for adults and children)
• Anti-tetanus
• Cephalexin Suspension
• Cephalexin
• Erythromycin Suspension
• Paracetamol
• Antacid Tablets and Suspensions
• Metronidazole Suspension
• Metronidazole
• Carbocisteine
• Cotrimoxazole Suspension
• Cotrimoxazole
• Salbutamol
• Agua Oxenada
• Isopropyl and Ethyl Alcohol
• Gauze pads and bandages

• Vitamins, supplements
• Biogesic, Immodium, Diatabs
• donations of doxycline welcome to prevent outbreak of leptospirosis.
• dr. kaufmann sulfur soap

3. Cash to any designated foundation. Make sure to have a receipt and fax it to the said foundation.

i just hope and pray the donations would reach those who were affected by the typhoon coz last year when i was in CDO a lot of donations where just left in a stock pile in one of the hangars of lumbia airport

i asked around the people when i was there sa CDO to do psycho-social debriefing ug ni-express jud sila nga daghan kaayo sila madungog sa balita nga daghang nanghatag ug donation pero wa gyud silay nadawat especially the muslim communities sa may balulang...murag naa jud problem sa ilang local government didto...they were all angry at their mayor kay mura ra ug wala...i hope dili ni mahitabo sa davao ug sa iligan...pero murag mamugas ni ang uban pulitiko ani kay hapit na raba ang election...

i asked around the people when i was there sa CDO to do psycho-social debriefing ug ni-express jud sila nga daghan kaayo sila madungog sa balita nga daghang nanghatag ug donation pero wa gyud silay nadawat especially the muslim communities sa may balulang...murag naa jud problem sa ilang local government didto...they were all angry at their mayor kay mura ra ug wala...i hope dili ni mahitabo sa davao ug sa iligan...pero murag mamugas ni ang uban pulitiko ani kay hapit na raba ang election...

dapat man gud ang tabang na ila ihatag, pang long term otherwise we will still be facing the looping problem.
