FOOD: 9/10 - Their food is already awesome, but I know they can expand the menu. They’re pretty much young still, but they’re off on a good start. They just need to add more to appeal to more age groups and categories. MUST TRY – Pork Ribs and Mango Float. Ow, yeah the Punch too.

VALUE FOR MONEY: 11/10 - Yes, that really is an 11. It’s the best place to score some really good eats for really low price. Every cent you spend on their food is worth it. Their food is very affordable and they even have Budget Meals and Combo Meals to suit your budget.

    Joed's Lutong Hapon

Im not that well versed with Japanese dishes, since im not really a huge fan of sushi, but when me and my girlfriend passed by Sacred Heart Hijas and found the place nestled conveniently outside the school, we just had to give it a try.

As I said I am not a huge fan of sushi, and so I ordered the Bento Meal which came with a LOT of pork and chicken, some bacon, and even more pork. My GF ordered rice toppings, of which I forgot the name. We also included a side dish of Japanese Soup, and to my GREAT SATISFACTION, they have a bottomless pitcher of iced tea for less than 100 pesos. And I believe the amount of people who can share the pitcher is 6 so that makes it a great deal. Upon tasting the food, I found it to be amazing, the meat was well cooked, really soft and tender, mixed with great spices and condiments. And the rice was perfect for chopsticks since all the rice were sticky.

All in all, even though I didnt taste any sushi, my experience there was terrific. The ambience was great, the staff were quick to approach and the orders were out within a few minutes. Everything was clean and everything was very reasonably priced.

    I give Joed's a 9/10.

    Default Takoyaki at Kameyaki

Takoyaki literally means grilled octopus! This is a ball-shaped Japanese snack which is made of a batter which can be wheat-flour based or made from an egg-rich type of batter. Usually filled with minced or slices of octopus, pickled ginger and green onion. Once cooked, it is drizzled with takoyaki sauce which looks like Worcestershire sauce and mayonnaise! Shavings of bonito flakes or nori bits are then sprinkled on top.

Don't let the wrinkles bug you! They remained warm and the sauce seeped in which was a treat! They tasted really savory. The sauce was a wonderful blend of sweet from the mayonnaise, tangy and salty from the takoyaki sauce. The squid is a wonderful surprise! It was a steal at Php90 for 6! If you plan to have authentic Japanese themed snack or heck day, head out to Talamban and get yourselves some Yakisoba and my favorite Okonomiyaki! They never fail to deliver! The waitstaff even remembered us when we came by and was hoping to come back soon if not soonest. I sure will!

    Siknoy

My girlfriend and I have eaten in this restaurant, particularly the one located in J Center, several times. The place is well-lit, very spacious and the tables and chairs are neatly arranged so that the diners can seat comfortably. Another good thing is that the area is always clean.

With the food, we’ve had the spring rolls served with a great sweet and sour sauce although there are times that it seems they are left in the fryer too long. The pork spare ribs and their fried rice are delicious. We tried their batchoy and the portion is very reasonable but the garlic toppings were burnt resulting to the dish having a weird taste. My girlfriend told the supervisor (he seems to be since he is the one with the loud voice) about it as we were leaving and he “educated” us that it was part of the toppings. Anyway, we just ordered the bird’s nest soup on our next visit.

I noticed that every time we ordered soup, it is not always served first as well with the rice. I don’t know if this really how it is there. Their iced tea is the same as any restaurant that serves bottomless iced tea, ordinary. I just wish that restaurants should also put an effort with their drinks as well especially if it’s within their control unlike sodas.

Well the staff is attentive with taking the orders but they could be more consistently prompt in serving them.
