please remember that the people who tried to block the entry of ERUF from coming to Mandaue are still very much into their dirty politics . do not vote for these people again who put good public service behind there selfish personal politics !!!

"Opposition councilors, like majority floor leader Councilor Victor Biaño, said they have no problem with the group’s application.

“But there will be a problem in giving it (Eruf) P1.5 million, which is the real purpose of the accreditation,” Biaño told Cebu Daily News, referring to an item in the 2008 annual budget proposed by Cortes.

The amount was for the construction and initial operation of the Eruf base in Mandaue City."

I have nothing against ERUF since they are considered force multipliers. But I guess the LGU has to look at to whom it was giving its money--->private NGO (ERUF, whether you like or not, is a private entity). I guess that is not allowed by the law that is why COA did not allow it. The LGU might look at others that they are MANDATED by law to provide assistance but nevertheless neglected like the Bureau of Fire Protection perhaps? Anyway, the current problem is really simple to solve. Why not organize a local rescue group (they could organize BPATS and traffic enforcers, why not rescue groups?), call it something other than ERUF, have BFP or ERUF personnel train them or better yet, HIRE those qualified ERUF personnel, pass a resolution formally making them employees of the LGU, inform the Dutch about the progress, and receive the damn truck. Oh by the way, Mandaue city despite its large land area and population, compared to cebu city and lapu-lapu, it only has ONE fire station (main central fire station) and ONLY ONE substation (located in basak). Ask your local officials what the hell were they thinking and what are they planning to do about it.

Well, simple ra kaau gihapon ang solution anang mga tang-an ug tapolan.---> proper education. Educate them properly on the consequences and what will happen to them kung di sila mag tinarong. For example, simple words like reprimand, suspension, dismissal, temporary and perpetual disqualification from public office, a very heavy fine, and imprisonment should be made familiar to them. The LGU could always place them under watchful eyes and mind you, pursuant to RA9514, all volunteer/non-volunteer rescue/firebrigades should report to and under the command of the BFP uniformed officer acting as ground/incident commander. Disobedience/obstruction of operation could mean imprisonment. Many do not know this but they should at least try to read the fire code. The presence of ERUF,Chinese Fire Volunteers, and all other volunteers is good and noteworthy, but should never be entirely relied upon. No matter how voluntary they are, no matter how brave they are, they are still private individuals who live private lives other than being firefighters/rescuers. At some point eventually, THEY WILL NOT PLACE THEIR LIVES AT RISK FOR YOU. Lahi ra if they become employed sa government (in this case the LGU) kay mahimo silang accountable to the public.

quick question lang, under ba sa LGU ang ACERT sa mandaue?
