wow... some people reacted so badly just because nauwawan siya nga nagpataka ug storya if i correct sa sayop, resulted in personal attack... i call that immaturity... like 7DMM said... there is no insult in there... its just you assume its an insult because you get corrected publicly.... mao rani ako ika reply nimo... i dont talk to STUPID PEOPLE WHO CANT COMPREHEND... dont mind replying you just win yourself a trip to my ignored lists of stupid people...
back to topic... this thread has lot of information... please keep all fantasy out in here.... before posting anything... please make a research to support its feasibility for use diri sa atoa... its not just the buying that is the issue its the operation in the long run...
A bit of a problem here. There's a fine line between the definition of "fantasy" according to Timawa standards (which i believe mr salbahis is trying to pursue) and the actual capability of the AFP in realizing their goals and mandate thru acquiring defence materials. I even observed that the AFP sila mismo they always miss their targets in modernization for more than a decade now.. Pero anything can happen.. About a year or two ago, you might be accused of fantasizing if you talk about acquiring missile firing frigates or even destroyers. But now you can freely talk about maestrales or soldati warships.. We can even start to talk about submarines since the PN already included it in their chart. Who would expect the PAF now using precision guided bombs in some of their operation? Thanks to the stupid abnoy president that at least we're starting to make things happen little by little..
So unsay basis nato dinhi? On my personal opinion i still favor the acquisition of MBT's. I tried to present my side sa Timawa many years ago and the usual "Hey kid you watch too much p*rn" attitude they afforded me, but i didn't complain and i just stopped arguing with them. Coz i know and always believe that the main stumbling block is the issue of PRIORITY. Until now i still don't believe in "weak bridge theory" and i consider it a lame alibi..
So maghulat nalang ta na mag mention ang AFP "right from the horses mouth" that they're considering this hi-tech churvaness before we can even discuss it here? or maghulat ta sa go-signal sa mga manoy ug mga experts Timawa or any armchair generals out there?
have you tried traveling on the country side? have you notice that the most of the standard bridges made have maximum to 15 tons... i was on that discussion too lurking... ive seen you post...
a engr relative of mine that works with building bridges for DPWH have said before when we talk about construction standard in most of our bridges and ports... he stated that 15 tons is the usual maximum unless taas ang volume sa mogamit... most of our bridges that are still in use are mostly built on 80's standard thats why 15 ton... now if you use in urban areas... way problema ana kay most of bridges in urban areas are above 15 tons thou naa pud usahay max 15 tons...
its not a lame alibi... its validated... kapila na nahitabo nga 10 wheeler truck nahug sa bridge kay nahugno pag labay nila... the problem man gud if we discussed MBT in particular daghan man i consider... now if we discussed between tracked vs wheeled kana maoy sakto i discussed... im a proponent for MBT but as of now... its not to be considered as priority...
in modernization its not forgotten it is rather prioritize... which part should be done first...
mao nga we should not talk about MBT if we want from the horses mouth... its better to talked about tracked vs wheeled...
the fauna of timawa... revolves around on facts that can be validated and backed... now since you said that weak bridge is an alibi... care to share why did you came up with that idea?
and also try reading pud sa timawa about lanao campaign pagka 2000 naay part didto nga nag validate that our road infrastructure particularly the bridge are not ready for heavy vehicle...
palihug lang sa manglawgaw... backed off...
final word... if we want MBT we should take down our old bridges and replace it with better one... MBT is not forgotten by rather put in the end of the lists... we are an archipelago... tanaw ninyo which is more important?
btw... im a member sa timawa since olive drab pa... thou lurker lang ko that time...

and btw... i want to set the space... i didnt mention we should not get MBT... rather invalidating it based from our present situation... it will be fantasy if you didnt based it on present situation... now back to the topic.... discusion like this is dynamic if our present situation have change so thus the discussion... i dont dwell on an idea that is already been invalidated... we move on the next part... and discussed it from there.... this is something ive learned from timawa all this years... thats why we encourage to post less and read more...

OT: Mao btaw "salbahis" iya handle name hehe naa ra nmu if ma provoke ka, sato pa shot-to-the heart ang wosh huehuehuehue! matud pa sa cliche, "salbahis ka?" hueheuehuehue!
OnT:
Personally, I don't get the idea of why we must get MBTS. Aside from the weak infrastructure, rice paddies and the fact that we are in an archipelago-type of state, there are other things to consider. What about mobility to cliff side roads? The bulk and its mode of transportation? Maintenance? Dia pa, most of the operations were on forested areas, would you rather risk your MBTS for enemies to pound just because you shell them out, or use howitzers in a safe range instead? Sus ang tanke dali kai na patumbahun tawn kung duolon nana sa tawo compare sa tank-to-tank battle, which is highly unlikely to happe here in the PH.
huehuehuehue~
We don't share a land border with any Nations so IMHO those MBT's would only be useful as Eye Candy during parades... Its better if mga Amphbious Capable Vehicles and paliton... Also our terrain are not suited for Main Battle Tanks, A pair of soldiers equipped with a Javelin or a Millan Anti-Tank (Armbrust Anti-Tank kung nahan ug cheap) weapon will be more effective than a cumbersome MBT...
Or just improve this MMPV to carry guided Anti-Tank Missile (ex. TOW)...
