I think the parents would disagree...
It's not a necessity but employers in the Philippines highly prefer college graduates.

Agree = ( . . .
importante au ng college degree bisan uso naron ang CC. lahi ra jud kong duna kay college degree hahaha, pero dli na necessity para sa dli ka afford or dli maka kaya imo utok.
college degree is the key to PROMOTION
bisag unsa nimo ka dedicated sa imong work but wala kay titulo, kutob ra jud ka sa lower level positions.
For me need kaau mka achieve ug college degree..may nlng gd naa tay ika share sa atong mga anak in the future.. m ask gyd na cla for xur f unsa atong nhuman pgka college..kai ipang hambog bya ta kunohay sa ilang mga klasmtes pd..^ ^
It may not be a necessity but there is an advantage of being a college degree holder than not being one. That is a fact we can't deny.
dli kinanglan pero let's face it, mas dako ug edge kung graduate ka ug unsa
true not a necessity to be financially successful pero it's nice to have... but if you really love the course or ma lingaw gud ka sa work then I'd guess it's a necessity kay eventually it's job that you enjoy so you won't see it as "work".
example of some dropouts
Abraham Lincoln, lawyer, U.S. president. Finished one year of formal schooling, self-taught himself trigonometry, and read Blackstone on his own to become a lawyer. (not these days di ka pwede ma lawyer with this technique)
other examples
Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Walt Disney, and the Facebook guy
daghan pud celebrities nga dropout pero datu

for me, i would somehow disagree with this. college degree has higher standards than those who has no degree in college.
