ge breed nila ang iro aron ma achieve lng ang ilang gustong porma with out knowing that ga suffer na d i ang ilang dogs....

Thats what makes a responsible breeder.

Knowing when to breed or when to not so as to stop passing down to the next generation the existing faults.

Ang problema nato , we have to understand that in BREEDING , comes also a great RESPONSIBILITY and I dont know why only PEDIGREED DOGS ra ang gi target when FACT , maski ang iro na RAZA that carries a trait that needs to be stopped or not suitable for breeding , nag breeding man gihapon.

My point is , MIXED or PURE , it doesnt matter. Mo ingon ta na say for example sa GSD today , yes dakong kausaban gyud nahitabo sa show lines but do youg uys think ang conformation sa WORKING LINES pod conforms to the GSD that Herr Max von Stephanitz bred a 100 years ago pod ? Wala na man tay makuha na original na breed conformation , heck ROTTS even existed during the Roman times but do we know what they really looked like back then ? NO , so the best thing to do is BREED to IMPROVE not only the line but the overall well being of the dog. This doesnt excempt also breeding mix breeds , applicable gihapon ni if mao ni reason why such statement was made.

I agree. BREED to IMPROVE or don't breed at all. If an average dog lover would watch that documentary, he would of course curse breeders of this generation. But if he has tried spending thousands or millions just to perfect a particular breeding program, he would think otherwise.

FACT: Most breeders, if not all, failed at first. But I cannot understand there are people who cannot appreciate the effort, investment and time these breeders spent.

SUGGESTION: Try to visit dog sports/shows. You will see how the dogs, working or show type, are being handled and cared of by their owners. It would be unfair if you judge other dogs to be a product of irresponsible breeding just because you have an ugly dog. It would be helpful if you EXACTLY KNOW the standards of a particular before making unnecessary remarks of a dog.

NOTE: I am talking about responsible breeders in the strictest sense of the word, not the backyard breeders you see around selling pets with captions like "Son, daughter, grandson, etc of PH BISS CH/GR/HOF" or "champline."

I see a lot of "dog lovers" here in istorya.net that are "keyboard warriors" - talking things they just googled and shared it to a forum to appear as if they are knowledgeable. But when you see their dog/s, you wouldn't reconcile how they applied to their dogs what they shared to others. Best lesson: Study the breed you want beforehand and study further when you get that dog.

RESPONSIBLE BREEDERS claimed on that status would be a different story but it would be unfair also to talk about something targeting on PEDIGREED DOGS because the fact remains , our current pedigreed dogs today specially the ones listed in AKC does not at all conform to the very breeds ( original ) on how it looks like back in the days when that was created . Is that the fault of the modern breeders or the original breeders ? For example , DOBERMAN PINSCHERS came out atleast from the GREYHOUND , ROTTIES , GREAT DANES . Why create such breed pa ? HEKTOR , the original GSD came from different breeds of herdings dogs and to some point a 3rd generation hybrid wolf . Ngano pa man ?

My point is , ok ra ba diay mag breed basta mixed or raza lang kay kung pedigreed man gawas ni mga faults and abnormalities? Mura baya na ug tao , INBREDS are also abnormals.

all i wanna say that breeding dogs just for fashion is not right. like sa german sheperd nga mura na lng ug gi polio kae "they think nindot daw na ang german sheperd nga mubo ang hindlegs". poor dogs.

to clarity : im not saying that all pedigree dogs are bad.

sakto man tanan...ang gi point out sa video kay kadtong, mga sobraan na ka expert and thinking about the improvement and on how to retain preferences. pero kung huna2-on gyud natog tarong, kung inana man lang gani ang labas nga mag "inbreeding" or to an extent of eugenics na, di na mag silbi ui.

dili tanan nato capable of breeding. dili tanan nato kwartahan, and most of all, we have no right to play "god" above animals.
