Sakto ka @mingb.. If this trend will continue, siguro i may concede to the fact that we the Filipino Race DO NOT HAVE THE GENES to be entrepreneurs or investors. Dawaton na nako nga hangtud ra jud ta sa pagka CONSUMER. Sa una lagi brad, kanang naa pud tay pagka nationalistic ba, nga akong mindset nga dapat unahon kita nga pilipino tagaan chance mu grow ato own industries and technologies. Pero so far halos 100 Million filipinos na, pero hangtud karon wala pa koy nakita nga very serious local filipino entrepreneurs who has the vision to market his own and control the world.. Dili nalang nato e apil kana sila henry sy, Lucio Tan, MVP, Lopez, ug uban pang Top 40 coz they do not represent the average filipino. .I guess we are born to be consumers.
With that note, and i also learned that many of the original authors of the 1987 Con like Fr Bernas had suggested, it's about time to amend the 60/40 provision if we want RAPID DEVELOPMENT/PROGRESS in our country.. It's not only the Cojuangco's who will be affected by the change, but all of the Top 40 especially Sy, Tan, Gokongwei, and Ayala..
On the other hand @mingb, there is always a loophole in every provision in our constitution that may suggest dili na necessary tanggalun ang 60/40 provision.. The evidence of that is MVP himself. Do you know that almost all of the companies he know controls and manages in the Philippines is wholly or partly owned by his real boss the Salim Family of Indonesia?
